  • Problem:
You are using Windows 7 or Vista. When you try to view the Help file topics for Signal Manager software (or for System Manager software) you get a message to the effect :

"The Help for this program was created in Windows Help format, which depends on a feature that isn’t included in this version of Windows. However, you can download a program that will allow you to view Help created in the Windows Help format."

There MIGHT also be instructions as to the location of the download you need. If not, read on:

This problem is a known issue, and is fully explained in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article KB917607, available here:

That page also has the links to download the appropriate file(s) required for your version of Windows. Follow the installation instructions found under the "Resolution" section which pertain to your operating system. This will guide you in downloading and installing a legacy Help viewer program. You should then be able to open the Help file. If you STILL experience an issue about a macro not being enabled then there is a registry key that needs to be manipulated -- read and follow these instructions AFTER installing the file listed above:
How to enable macros on a single computer after you install the WinHlp32.exe download
(you may have to expand the details of the article when viewing that page)
