  • I'm currently using 3 QSC CX404's and 5 DSP30's for my interior/outdoor 21-speaker audio system. I would like to add another CX404 and a BASIS system, but do not know what model BASIS system to purchase. I want to upgrade to a BASIS sytem and sell off my DSP30's in order to save space/wiring in my rack system. My thoughts was one of the BASIS 922's. I appreciate your assistance.

  • Hello,

Since you will end up with a total of 4 CX404 amplifiers, the total DataPort count will result in 8 DataPorts needing servicing (2 DataPorts per CX404 unit).

So the Basis 914lz model is what I would suggest. The Basis 914lz has four local inputs with 8 DataPort outputs. In order to realize the total functionality of a DataPort equipped amplifier with a Basis unit, all DataPort connections need terminating.
