Sending signal from my mixer to my K12 and a house mixer

  • I play several keyboard instruments, and I currently route them through a mixer next to me when I perform (Ashly MX508). I have two sets of balanced outputs on this mixer. One is transformer-less and the other uses a transformer. Normally, I can just connect the Transformer outputs to the K12 without any worries. Could I also connect the outputs that are transformer-less and avoid any ground loop issues (so that I can connect the transformered outputs directly to the house monitor and use the K12 as a stage monitor)? Or will the K12 not be able to deal with a direct connection to my mixer without the transformers?

  • Unless there is something quirky about the mixer's output circuitry, you should be able to use either transformerless or transformer outputs into the K12.
