GX5 config with 1 sub and 2 tops in crossover mode

  • How would I physically connect 1 peavey prosub woofer 600w rms 4 ohm and 2 mackie c300z tops 300w rms 8 ohm each to my qsc gx5 single amp in crossover mode. Include how to connect tops together please.

  • You would connect the subwoofer to channel 1's output and the two top loudspeakers to channel 2's, after you set up the amp to work with its internal crossover.

    Parallel-connect the two top loudspeakers. Many loudspeakers have parallel input jacks to facilitate parallel connections. If you're not familiar with what your loudspeakers have, consult the user manual or contact Mackie.

  • Thankyou Bob, would I connect my mackie profx8 mixer, ch1 / left and ch2 /right outputs to the gx5 ch1 and ch2 inputs.

  • You would use the channel 1 input and run your mixer in mono.
